You will cover the SE United States from Florida to Mass & occasionally as far west as Iowa. Ideal spots to base from are S. Carolina, Virginia or Kansas City area.

Here are role specifics:

- Your focus would be 40% at the distributor level with 60% directly with dealers. You’ll work to develop new relationships while sustaining a great base w/distributor management, distributor purchasers, & distributor reps. You’ll promote Durvet products/programs to grow & increase market strength. Your efforts to support the dealer will create pull through at the consumer level. As you “add value” you will be expected to increase sales at both the distributor and the dealer level.

In all areas, you’ll manage/document time & activities using our tracking program & working closely with your team & Manager for communications and coordination. Team work is highly prized in our organization.

Challenges/Essential Job Functions for Distributors

- At least monthly make that distributor connection; let them know you care. Detail programs & promotions to purchasers/key decision makers, & find ways to gather insights/innovations that help distributors & our marketing team as they help you

- Develop sales goals/ forecasts for new products & programs that coordinate distributor purchases to dealer promotions

- Use your talents to enlist placement of new items/programs; know your “stuff” and be a resource

- Attend vital distributor sales meetings/functions & participate in distributor trade shows/sales meetings

- With your manager, the Director of Sales OTC, develop growth programs & coordinate w/other RSM’s to help cohesive pull through on current products and promotions

Challenges/Essential Job Functions for Dealers

- Develop territory dealer sales plans & revise the plans monthly to help maintain current accounts, create new customers and identify new areas of opportunity.

- Use your time to help promote Durvet/distributor relations with “ride-alongs”; a key opportunity to build relationships & help dealer personnel achieve their goals.

- Make it your business to maximize your touch with dealers, making sales calls to stores weekly, detailing programs and promotions

- Attend dealer events: i.e. open houses/customer appreciation events plus participate in trade shows/sales meetings

- Organize and execute sales blitzes at key distributors in your area.

Success in this role requires the following minimum Education & Experience

- Passion for animal health that allows you to enjoy the people, products and the good we do

- 4 Year Degree or a combination of education/equivalent experience

- 1-3 years’ experience in an agriculture or animal health industry

- 3 years field sales experience

Minimum Skill Requirements

- Talent as a relationship builder, business partner & a sales achiever

- Can learn/master technical details & critical factors related to key products/programs

- Able to utilize excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively outline, educate and solicit commitment; able to create/make impactful presentations

- Solid use of software: i.e. PowerPoint, Word Processing, Spreadsheets & Contact Mgmt.
