Durvet’s First Annual Take Your Dog to Work Day

It’s a day that’s “gone to the dogs”.

Last week, some of our employees and their dogs participated in the 21st annual Take Your Dog to Work Day, which was created by Pet Sitters International. Celebrates companion dogs and encourages adoptions from local shelters, rescue groups, and humane societies. TYDTWD also promotes the importance of the human-animal bond.

From the very beginning, they worked alongside us, hunting, tracking, and even keeping us safe at night by growling and barking.  In the modern day, this relationship has been forgotten, and the poor pooch is now left to sit at home while we go about our daily business.  Take Your Dog to Work Day is set to change this old policy back again, and bring the happy puppy back into our daily work lives.

To help celebrate the occasion, with Durvet's pup-proval, a few of dogs accompanied their pet guardians to work.  Studies show that animals in the office can reduce employee stress, increase job satisfaction, and gives employees a more paws-itive perception of their employer.  Everyone really enjoyed seeing, petting and playing with all the four-legged pups.  Here are the pooches that visited the office:
