Durvet Is Going To The Dogs (For A Day)

On Friday, June 21, Durvet will join companies around the globe in opening their doors to employees’ furry, four-legged best friends for Pet Sitters International's (PSI) 21st annual Take Your Dog To Work Day (TYDTWDay).

TYDTWDay was established by PSI in 1999 and urges businesses around the globe to experience the joys of dogs in the workplace for just one day. The day also celebrates companionship dog's provide and promotes adoptions from local shelters, rescue groups, and humane societies.

2019 marks Durvet’s first year of TYDTWDay participation. We are excited to 'go to the dogs' for a good cause and see this event as a way to recognize the important role dogs play in our employees’ lives. In conjunction with the event and an opportunity to make a positive impact on our local community Durvet and its employees will be donating to a local shelter. 

In preparation for the annual event, here are some common do’s and don’ts to take your dog to work day:

Do’s

  1. Do get approval for the idea.
  2. Do get fido groomed before the big day.
  3. Do check to see if your workplace is dog proof.
  4. Do pack a doggie bag.

Don’ts

  1. Do not bring your if dog he/she does not have good manners or is not housebroken.
  2. Do not force your dog on your co-workers.
  3. Do not let your pup wander around the office.
  4. Do not neglect your work.
